Herbal Tea

Herbal teas, also called tisanes, are infusions made from a combination of flowers, herbs and dried fruits rather than the tea plant itself.  Herbals use any plant except Camellia sinensis and they come from almost every country on the globe.  Since herbals come from an infinite number of plant sources they have an endless range of flavors and health benefits.  Some, like chamomile, are light and floral while others, like hibiscus, are bright and tart.

Dating back to ancient China, herbal tea have been used for medicinal purposes, but are also enjoyed today for their variety of flavors and decaffeination.  Many have positive digestive qualities.  Some have calming effects.  Many herbals, such as elderflower and lemongrass, act as natural antihistamines and reduce inflammation in the body.  Others. like ginger and mint, aid in the digestion by increasing the flow of digestive juices.  Rooibos is known to be rich in antioxidants and minerals.  The list goes on!

Herbals are so wonderful in that they are absolutely delicious AND they're good for you.
